Mussel farmLatest News Feb 13th The original application (from Mr Alan McDonald) has now been withdrawn. However, the Celtic Seafoods application described below is a completely different application, and it has not been withdrawn. Anyone wishing to support, or to object to, this application must send a letter to the plannig department. Any letter sent with regard to the other application is considered to be not relevant to the new one. Feb 11th No minutes or summary are yet available for the meeting on February 10th 2004. However, one of the major items discussed was the planning application for mussel farm development on Loch Melfort by Celtic Seafoods. The meeting resolved to send a letter of objection to the mussel farm, which can be seen here. It is recommended that members of the community who wish to object, or support, this application should write personally to the planning department (see the letter for details such as the department address, planning application number, etc. Individual letters carry much more weight in the planning department's considerations than general petitions. It is important that your letter clearly state your reasons for support or objection, rather than simply stating your views. The minutes from one meeting are reviewed and approved at the next meeting; therefore we will usually be at least one meeting behind in displaying actual minutes. When possible, an informal, unofficial summary of the most recent meeting will be provided as soon as possible after the meeting - and later replaced when the actual minutes are available. When looking at any particular meeting's report, it should be clear whether it is an informal summary or a copy of the approved minutes. Note that formatting issues are possible during the conversion from the official minutes to the Web presentation. |
